Dear Friends of Shinn,
We’re a week into the official start of Spring and we’ve already had several inches of snow, a warming trend, and now on and off bursts of heavy rain. There will likely be more rain today before it chills down again tomorrow – some forecasters predict snow flurries. The sun should be back out on Sunday. You can get up to the minute reports from our own weather station. Come by the tasting room to sample new our Spring releases of Coalescence and Rose.

We’re hosting our first ever vertical tasting of each vintage we’ve produced of Wild Boar Doe – starting with 2004 through a barrel sample of 2013. Wild Boar Doe is a meritage blend of the five red varieties we grow. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot all playing together to create this harmonious wine. Join us in the wine library and barrel cellar on Saturday, April 11th between 3-5 PM for an exciting afternoon that will include artisan cheese fruit and bread. Call 631-804-0367 to reserve.$45 per person. Very limited seating.
We are open everyday from 10:30 AM until 5:00 PM and until 8:00 PM on Friday and Saturday. There are always 10-12 wines to choose for tastng – or enjoy a bottle or glass. Cheese plates, charcuterie, olives and nuts are available for purchase as well as signature Shinn Estate Vineyards T-shirts and copies of our cookbook “Recipes from Home” published in 2001 – winner of the Julia Child Cookbook Award.
If you are unable to visit us in the tasting room and cannot find our wines near you – we ship to most places in the U.S. Our Online store has gift certificates as well as many gift packages available.
And that’s the news from Oregon Road!
