As owners of the popular Home Restaurant in Manhattan since 1993, Barbara Shinn and David Page are committed to producing wines that enhance our local cuisine. Their more than 15 years of dedication to Long Island wine and food has been integral to the rise of the East End as a sophisticated wine and food destination.
Shinn Estate Vineyards was established in 1998 and has a working philosophy of low-impact, sustainable farming. Innovative soil building techniques and “extreme viticulture” partner to create consistently balanced fruit vintage to vintage. The crop is hand harvested at extremely low yields to produce fruit-driven wines with long aging potential. Shinn Estate wines have won accolades from numerous wine publications including Wine Spectator, New York Times, Food and Wine and New York.
Located on pristine Oregon Road in Mattituck, Shinn Estate Vineyards is a pleasant diversion into acres of preserved farmland. Weekend vineyard walks address our sustainable farming practices and the growing cycle of the vines. 20 acres of vines focus on densely spaced Merlot and small amounts of Sauvignon Blanc. Additional plantings include blending components of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec.
